New - Interstella 5555 - The Whole Film

This film is the visual realization of the album Discovery. Each track from the album has been animated as an episode in the story of the abduction and rescue of an interstellar pop band. The film was produced by the creators of the Discovery album, along with Toei Animation, under the supervision of Leiji Matsumoto. Enjoy!!!

Homework Album

Around The World

This song became a major club hit throughout the world and arrived at #1 in dance charts. The song is particularly known for the repeated phrasing of its title. It is also known for its music video, which was directed by Michel Gondry and choreographed by Blanca Li. Watch it below.

Da Funk

"Da Funk" is an instrumental track by Daft Punk included on their debut album Homework. It was initially released as a single in 1995 under the Soma Quality Recordings label and again in late 1996 after the band signed with Virgin Records. "Da Funk" and its accompanying video directed by Spike Jonze are considered classics of 1990s house music.

Burnin'

Burnin' was the third single from the album Homework, released in 1997. The music video for the track was directed by Seb Janiak. The song later had a remix entitled "Extravaganza", created by Korean band BanYa for the dance video game Pump It Up. Elements of "Burnin'" were combined with the song "Too Long" in Daft Punk's live album Alive 2007.

Discovery Album

One More Time

"One More Time" was released on November 13, 2000 and later included in the 2001 album Discovery. The song's vocal performance by Romanthony is heavily auto-tuned and compressed. "One More Time" remains their biggest commercial hit to date. It nearly topped the United Kingdom chart in 2000, instead peaking at #2, and was one of their few charting songs in the United States, reaching #61 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Harder Better Faster Stronger

"Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" features a robotic vocal performance by Daft Punk. It contains a sample of "Cola Bottle Baby" by Edwin Birdsong. Kanye West's song "Stronger" from the album Graduation prominently features a sample of "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger". Two actors who wore the robotic Daft Punk costumes in the film Daft Punk's Electroma appear in the music video for "Stronger". It was later performed live at the 2008 Grammy Awards with Daft Punk in their trademark pyramid while Kanye West was on stage rapping.

Aerodynamic

"Aerodynamic" is an instrumental track featuring a prominent guitar solo. The track was released on March 28, 2001 as the second single from the Discovery album. Daft Punk acknowledged that "Some people might think that the guitar solos on 'Aerodynamic' are in bad taste, but for us, it's all about being true to ourselves and not caring what other people would think. We really tried to include most of the things we liked as kids, and bring that sense of fun to it."

Human After All Album

Human After All

Human After All was released as a single on October 31, 2005. It is the only single from the album (Human After All) released without an accompanying music video. Daft Punk had originally set to make a video, but it eventually became the feature film Daft Punk's Electroma co-written and directed by the duo. I felt it was too much of a good song to not include on this page, so i've added a video recorded at one of their concerts.

Technologic

The song features an electronically pitch-raised voice chanting imperative statements related to technological pursuits. For example, "Plug it, play it, burn it, rip it, drag and drop it, zip-unzip it" are spoken in rhythm to a percussive beat. Also check out Daft Hands to this song on the fun vids page, you'll be impressed.

Robot Rock

The music video for "Robot Rock" consists of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo of Daft Punk performing the song on a stage decorated with several televisions and lights, and filmed in a somewhat aged look. This is the first video to feature the duo as themselves exclusively. This pattern continues for the rest of the Human After All videos except for "The Prime Time of Your Life", where they only make a cameo appearance. Bangalter plays the double neck guitar shown on the "Robot Rock" single cover while de Homem-Christo performs on a set of drums.
